* Gifts in a Jar....

1-qt. wide-mouth jar w/lid
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup oats
3/4 cup chocolate chips
3"x3" white cardstock
6"to18" narrow ribbon

Add each ingredient to jar in order listed. After each addition, use a spoon to level and pack down layer. Attach lid.

On white cardstock, make gift tag with the following instructions.
" For scrumptious holiday cookies in a flash, preheat oven to 375*. Beat together 3/4 butter, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1 egg in large bowl. Add contents of jar and stir until well blended. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 7-10 minutes. Makes 2 dz.

Punch hole in corner of your tag, and thread ribbon through hole. Tie ribbon around the jar's neck.
